SERVICES:
Various Manual Therapy techniques are done at Physio Rx:

Peripheral Joint Mobilisation and Manipulation: Mobilizations are used to restore joint play that has been lost due to injury or disease. Furthermore, there are stretching mobilizations used for pain management and stretching.

Spinal Mobilisation and Manipulation

Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation: uses proprioceptive input to improve muscle flexibility and strength. Proprioceptors are sensory nerve-ending in muscles, tendons, and joints. They provide a sense of the body’s position by responding to stimuli from within the body.

Neural Mobilisation : Neural mobilisation is a gentle movement technique used by physiotherapists to move nerves. Specific gentle movements of nerves stimulate the blood supply to the nerve; it improves the axoplasmic flow in the nerve and loosens scar tissue between the nerve and its ‘bed’ after injury. This treatment relieves pain and restores functional movement.

Myofascial Release: is a form of soft tissue therapy used to treat somatic dysfunction and resulting pain and restriction of motion

Muscle Energy Technique: is a form of osteopathic manipulative diagnosis and treatment in which the patient’s muscles are actively used on request, from a precisely controlled position, in a specific direction, and against a distinctly executed physician counterforce.

Core Stability Exercises: “Core stability” describes the ability to control the position and movement of the central portion of the body. Core stability training targets the muscles deep within the abdomen which connect to the spine, pelvis and shoulders, which assist in the maintainance of good posture and provide the foundation for all arm and leg movements.

Ergonomic Advice:Ergonomics is concerned with the ‘fit’ between the user, equipment and their environments. Proper work practices and setup of the computer workstation can help with the prevention of repetitive motion injuries associated with computer workstations. Many ergonomic improvements can be made through simple changes such as seat and monitor height adjustment.
